My family loves sloppy joes, but those mixes just don't taste right, so we very seldom had them. That is until a friend of mine gave me a recipe that has three ingredients (minimum) that you would never expect would go together. It is very simple and clean up is a snap.
You simply take a couple of pounds of hamburger, the regular size bottle of Heinz ketchup, and a can of CHEAP lemon-lime soda. NOT SPRITE OR SIERRA MIST, as it won't come out right.
Brown the burger and drain 3/4 of the fat. Mix in the full bottle of ketchup and a 12 oz can of the soda. Let simmer until desired flavor is achieved.
Toast some bulky rolls and enjoy!
